blaze
This is an after-school activity that takes specific young people on outings in the local countryside. With a barbeque each week and a focus on social relationships, Blaze allowed space for fun, exploration, and an opportunity to release energy in a positive manner! In addition the staff team provided open and honest lifestyle advice to help the young people grow in confidence and enjoy improved self-esteem which can combat social and school exclusion. By invite only. To be continued by the new project LA-UK

dance fusion
Similar to Dance Nation, Fusion was a dance class for 11 to 16 year old girls which helped them develop skills in more complicated routines as well as encouraging them to choreograph and teach routines themselves. In addition, the girls also learnt what it takes to keep healthy and active - both physically and mentally - which helps you feel good about yourselves! After-school for one hour a week the girls could learn, create and perform. Fresh fruit and drinks are provided.

glow
For girls only, this fun group provides sustained support for referred young people throughout school years 6 and 7. The aim of the group is to help build confidence and self-esteem in order to provide a smooth transition from Junior to Secondary School. The weekly group provided a safe place for the girls to talk about issues concerning them, plus regular outings helped them to develop friendships and grow in confidence as they try new things. Fresh fruit and drinks are provided.

mix
Similar to Glow, but open to boys too, MIX provided sustained support for referred young people throughout school years 6 and 7. This inclusion project works with young people who need support in achieving their best from Junior to Secondary School. Through group work, one-to-one activities and at home with their families, the team rewarded positive behavior, attitudes and attendance with various trips. This piece of work is being run in several other projects across West Sussex. Fresh fruit and drinks are provided. To be continued by the new project LA-UK

space (young carers)
In partnership with West Sussex Social and Caring Services, SPACE provides regular support and opportunities for young people who look after a family member with an illness or a disability. Through activities, workshops and trips out during school holidays, the young people receive the social opportunities they deserve, meet new people, support each other, enjoy a break and have some fun! Young people can attend through referral only. Run by Spurgeons as separate work

x-treme
Originally just the youth event during the Festival of Wick, X-treme became a successful brand of local youth events that occur throughout the year. The crazy programme usually includes messy games and unusual activities from human bowling and foamy bouncy castles through to rocket launching and paint wars! Open to anyone aged 11 to 16, X-treme really is the place to be... just don’t wear your best clothes! To be continued by the new project LA-UK

Teenagers! Love them or hate them, there's a lot of them around and most are pretty nice once you get to know them. To help give some stability through those difficult years we provided a number of activities to offer support, advice and opportunities.
